Cyrus is a highly skilled lawyer who graduated from the University of Alberta with a JD in law in 2012. During his time at law school, he was a standout performer and a member of the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot, the most renowned international moot worldwide for the University of Alberta. Additionally, he served as an editor for the prestigious Alberta Law Review and participated in the Provincial Court of Alberta clerkship program, where he honed his legal skills and developed a deep understanding of the Canadian legal system.
With a passion for justice and a commitment to upholding the rights of his clients, Cyrus began his legal career specializing in criminal defense. He successfully litigated cases that protected and advanced the rights of his clients under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. His experience in criminal law has provided him with a strong foundation in legal analysis, strategic thinking, and advocacy skills.
Currently, Cyrus’s practice primarily focuses on immigration and family law matters. He has extensive experience in this area and has successfully represented clients in a wide range of immigration and family law cases. His compassionate approach, combined with his expertise and commitment to excellence, has helped countless individuals and families navigate complex legal issues and achieve positive outcomes.
Cyrus maintains an appellate practice in addition to his trial work. He has a deep understanding of the appeals process and has successfully argued cases in various appellate courts, including the Court of Appeal for Alberta and the Federal Court of Appeal. He also appears before administrative tribunals such as the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Parole Board of Canada, and the Office of Police Complaints Commissioner.
Cyrus is an active member of the Law Society of British Columbia and Alberta. He is committed to ongoing professional development and regularly participates in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date with the latest legal developments and best practices. He also participates in various legal associations and organizations.
In addition to his legal practice, Cyrus is actively involved in his community. He volunteers his time and resources to various non-profit organizations and community initiatives, including pro bono legal services to low-income clients.
